The main focus of Dr. Markus Kraus´ work lies on food and feed law matters in the European Union and Member States as well as the law of consumer products ranging from the development to manufacturing and hygiene questions, to marketing issues. His consultancy covers particularly the risk and crisis management, the marketability of foods and their ingredients including additives, also extending to the approval of such products as well as the classification (food/additive and food/pharmaceutical product). Dr. Kraus provides legal and strategic advice (at the national and European levels) as well as representation in litigation.

Furthermore, Dr. Kraus is co-editor of Lebensmittelrechts-Handbuch, C. H. Beck Verlag, and of Textsammlung Lebensmittelrecht, Verlag Österreich, as well as author of a multitude of publications. He is lecturer for food law at the University of Applied Sciences (hKDM) Freiburg im Breisgau for studies in "Culinary Arts and Food Management".
